Services and Features
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. When necessary we use commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics.
Radiology: Our X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many problems.
Anesthesia: We have the safest available anesthetics which provide that extra margin of safety in older or high risk patients. We provide constant patient monitoring and supportive care with the most modern equipment.
Dentistry: It is very important to have your pet's teeth examined and cleaned on a regular basis to protect their teeth and gums. Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, odontoplasty, periodontal treatment, orthodontic treatment, tooth extractions, and oral surgery.
Surgery: Our hospital includes surgical facilities for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Ophthalmology: We see many types of eye problems in dogs and cats. Fortunately many are easy to diagnose and treat. We refer to Dr. Jones at Northwest Eye Clinic in Kirkland for any ocular problem that is not fairly basic or not responding to initial treatment
Acupuncture: We are pleased to announce that we offer integrative services. In addition to standard (Western) medical diagnosis and treatment we now offer diagnosis using Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). Starting in February 2009 Dr. Bennett will offer treatment with acupuncture if a TCVM consultation and diagnosis is elected by a patient's owner.
Preventive Health Care Programs:
BREEDING SERVICES - including pre-breeding exams and testing, maternity and neonatal care.
PEDIATRIC CARE - with examinations, vaccinations, parasite control and nutritional counseling.
ADULT PET CARE - including regular examinations, vaccinations, parasite control and dental care programs.
GERIATRIC PROGRAMS - to help assure quality life in the "golden years." Our Senior Health Profile forms the foundation for our geriatric program and allows us to plan disease prevention and control for the older pet.
Pharmacy: We have a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We have an expanded source available through our online store.
Microchipping: Microchips help your pet return to you if found. Microchipping is a relatively simple injection that may make the difference between life and death if you pet becomes lost. Pets that can be identified if presented as an injured stray have a better chance of being treated than pets without identification. We are currently using the AKC ReUnite which is compatible if your pet needs to travel outside of the United States.
Individualized Flea Control Programs: We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, yard and on your pet. Our particular favorite products include Frontline Plus and Flea Busters.
Dietary Counseling: Proper nutrition is vital to the health of your animal companion at every age level. Let us discuss your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance, performance, and as an aid in the treatment of some diseases. We carry Hill's Science Diet, Purina Veterinary Diets and Innovative Veterinary Diets. We carry nutritional supplements such as VetriScience products - Glycoflex, Glycoflex 2, NuCat, Canine Plus and more. We carry MSM and a variety of other supplements.
Behavioral Counseling: If you have trouble with your pet barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, running away or housebreaking, for instance, we can provide helpful advice on correcting the problem.
To better help you and your pet, we strive to continually educate ourselves. We are current members of the Veterinary Information Network (VIN).
We use VIN, as well as other educational opportunities to keep on top of new medical findings and understandings.
Dr. Bennett has completed certification for Stem-Cell Therapy. We now have this treatment available to our patients, but as of January 2009 have not used it yet.
Dr. Bennett is a student of veterinary acupuncture through the Chi Institute. Service is now available now. Certification was completed in August 2009.
For diagnostics and treatments that we do not have available we refer to one of the many specialty veterinary hospitals in our area.
